A DxE activist Matt Johnson posed as pork producer Smithfield Foods CEO Dennis Organ on Fox Business television channel. He used the platform to 'admit' that his industry is the leading cause of zoonotic diseases, such as COVID-19. Matt also pledged half a billion dollars to solve this problem. Smithfield Foods quickly responded by stating that their CEO was being impersonated. With this denial highlighted the absence of the company taking the responsibility financially and practically for their hand in being a 'petridish' for zoonotic diseases in their pig farms.
